Thiorva Wreck

Thiorva Wreck: Whether you want a wreck diving scuba trip or just want to snorkel on the coral reef, Key Largo has it all!

This is a wreck diving scuba trip located to the north end of Turtle Reef. Not a lot is known about the wreck other than it is the suspected remains of an old 200ft schooner.

Thiorva WreckThe wreck name is derived from the nameplate found in the 1950’s which bore the name Thiorva.

All that remains is her anchor, a cannon, and a few metal pieces scattered around.

Probably of more interest to snorkelers than scuba diving. Scuba trips do dive at this site as the area does have some interesting coral formations and marine life.

I didn’t dive this wreck as I was under the weather at the time, think the beer may have been off the night before, honest!

I chose to snorkel with a few mates and wasn’t disappointed when we spotted one of my cousins, a Hawksbill turtle.
