Civil War Wreck
Civil War Wreck: Scuba diving Florida, is exciting, from the novice, to the most experienced scuba diver. With every type of dive available …
Named after the American Civil War, the wreck is located to the north of the Elbow Reef 36ft light tower. All that is left of the original 40ft timber vessel is some timber poles and some iron pins.
Whilst there is not much to see in the way of a wreck, when you are scuba diving, Florida, this dive site is typical and you will find an area full of a vast array of different corals and marine-life.
This area is well known for its clear blue waters and with the various marine life such as elkhorn coral, brain coral, yellow goatfish, moray eels, and white grunts, the area is an underwater photographers paradise and is regularly frequented by snap happy scuba diving, Florida enthusiasts.
This site is used extensively for night dives also.

Plenty of fish

Snorkeling: Yes
This was the first site I tried out my new underwater camera. The fish weren’t shy but I was all ‘fins’ and no skill!
Decided to book an underwater photography course when I saw the disappointing results.
